My father has always said to me: Beauty alone is not enough. And of course he is right. Nevertheless, we love to look at beautiful people. It’s not for nothing that around 20.5 million people sat in front of the screens at the final of “America’s next Top Model“. It is not for nothing that the beautiful girls at Instagram have several million followers. But what actually makes them so beautiful in our view? Why do they literally always cut such a good figure?
Of course, our zeitgeist, the ideal of beauty, which has been called “hourglass” since Marilyn Monroe at the latest, plays a major role in our evaluation. So much of the ideal is proportion – and to take the example of the Hollywood diva: 89 – 56 – 89 are the absolute dream measurements for a very slim figure with curves. The catch: not many women have dream measurements according to this dictation, neither do I. For example, the distribution of the cup sizes is not very good according to the theory.
Especially the bust size is often the subject of disagreement, and many women struggle to have something done. The pressure seems to be great, because after all about 70,000 women per year decide to have larger breasts with silicone. Most of them are super happy with it – and that’s how it should be. Others take it as nature intended and are just as happy – I hope so. In the end what counts is that we like each other the way we are.

The perfect cleavage: that’s what counts
I am a big fan of just making the best out of it. When it comes to styling, we have all the possibilities to show ourselves from the best side. Not for nothing there are push-up bras for “more” and also so-called Minimizer bras, which make the bust look smaller. With this “trick” you can influence the proportions, i.e. do a little magic with regard to optimum values. A few centimeters up or down will always look good. If you have such a great décolleté like Manuela, you can of course show it.
Who – like me – is equipped with less wood in front of the hut, can even score points with the right outfit in traditional costume, wear slip dresses and execute evening dresses with wow-effect.
The crucial thing is to find the right lingerie and not to set the neckline too low. That’s my feel-good recipe, which simply works and gives me confidence. When it comes to appearance, it’s a bit like in the kitchen: in the end, the ingredients make the good taste.
