11 tips to avoid boredom during quarantine and take care of your skin

10 tips to avoid boredom during quarantine

At the moment it is not easy for all of us and the best way to fight the Corona virus is to just stay at home. However, this can quickly become boring. For this reason, we would like to give you 10 tips to help you make the most of the quarantine.

Tip 1: Enjoy the peace and quiet

Even if the panic is raging outside in almost all shops and the media almost constrict you with their reporting and the peace and quiet seems to be far away… Have you ever looked out of the window at this very moment? If you look out during the day, you can watch the flowers grow. The birds flying around in search of food for their chicks. You can hear them chirping as the world stands still and the other sounds of the city and people are almost silent. And in the evening you can see the lights of the city in peaceful silence. When will we have the opportunity again to listen so intensely to nature from home or to watch it awakening in spring? Without having to travel far away to nature. So enjoy the peace and quiet that nature itself radiates and relax at this sight.

Tip 2: Phone with your loved ones and have a video chat

Fortunately, we don’t have to give up our social contacts completely during this time. Thanks to the various video chat facilities and a great telephone network, we are always able to keep in touch with all our friends and family members. Nowadays everyone has so much to do, is constantly under time pressure. Most of the time we get completely lost in our work and our duties and there is no time left to talk to someone for even a few minutes. Just talk to each other as often as possible. This brings us closer to our social contacts again and time flies.

Tip 3: Watch a series or movie on Netflix

Each of us has that one series or movie that you always click away from on Netflix or other providers with the thought “Oh no, not today. I’ll watch it next time.” And next time? Let’s not look at it again, with the same thought. So now take the time to watch this show or this movie now! And who knows, maybe this will even be your new favorite movie, which you would otherwise have clicked away for weeks.

Tip 4: Create a beauty day

Now the time has come for us to let our face mask, hair mask, active ingredient serums and much more work for a long time. No more rush and also no “Shit… I can’t use this product today, it doesn’t go with my make-up.” You can take your time for everything. And you don’t have to miss girls’ night out, either. Set up a video chat, sit in front of the camera with snacks and a face mask and chat about everything and nothing, or watch a series together. Just because you are physically separated from each other doesn’t mean you have to give up your beauty day with your girlfriends altogether. Thanks to today’s technology, we can even experience a common beauty day on different continents.

Tip 5: Learn something new

You always wanted to learn a new language. Or drawing. Or maybe you are one of those people who would like to write a book. Use this free time to do just that! Learn a new language! Learn to draw! And learn how to write a book! Maybe you discover a new hobby for yourself or you know your next destination, because of your new language skills already. You can learn so many new things, because there is so much potential in you. P.S.: for everything you want to learn, there is certainly an app or video tutorials. ?

Tip 6: Paint or draw your thoughts on a piece of paper

Sometimes you have to let your thoughts run free. Take a piece of paper and just start drawing. Paint whatever comes to your mind, whether different shapes or colours make your paper shine. You could also print out templates from the Internet and paint them or order a Paint By Numbers on the Internet. Painting relaxes and may awaken hidden talents in you.

Tip 7: Read a good book

To read a book means to have time and patience. You feel yourself into the characters and the story, you literally sink into this book. It is something completely different than leafing through a magazine or browsing through any article on the internet. So pick up a book or read an e-book on your reader/tablet/cell phone. Sit at your window or on your balcony and read your chapters in peace. Think about it, but don’t forget to relax your eyes regularly by looking into the distance from time to time. By the way, you should also do this when you spend a long time sitting at your mobile phone or laptop.

Tip 8: Do Home Workouts / Yoga

The fact that all leisure activities are now being closed does not mean that we cannot take care of our health and our bodies. Find a nice workout on the internet or learn yoga. During this long time out at home it is especially important to bring in the missing movement of everyday life in some way. It’s not about making a special effort or doing a lot of sports. It is purely about a little exercise that is healthy for body and mind.

We met with the face yoga expert, Danielle Collins, who, as well as being able to tell us the health and beauty benefits of exercising the face, has put together a 10-minute face yoga routine that can easily slot into your morning or evening relaxation time.

These facial exercises can tighten the face and the skin attached to it, which smooths the skin. Massaging the skin using face yoga also increases circulation and its collagen elastin, which makes it look fresh and energised. Acupressure on and around the face releases tension and helps you feel relaxed.
hi my name is Daniel Collins and I'm the world leading face yoga expert and today I'm going to show you some face yoga techniques which are wonderful way of looking and feeling younger and healthier so face yoga is a combination of exercise for face massage to the face acupressure and relaxation as we exercise the muscles in the face they become stronger and the skin attach them is taught in the firm so very good for smoothing the skin if we massage the face daily we're helping to increase the circulation increase the collagen elastin which helps skin to look fresher and more energized the acupressure and well-being are amazing for helping you to feel relaxed in your mind but also releases any tension in the face as well so hope you enjoy these exercises face yoga with good housekeeping so the first exercise we're going to do helps to strengthen the muscles in the forehead and therefore smooth lines in that area so let's take our fingers and just place them onto our foreheads look up towards the ceiling and as you do just gently pull the skin on your forehead down a little start to raise your eyebrows up a little bit there as well now you're going to try and hold this position your fingers are doing most of the work here they're creating the resistance this is how you're going to strengthen that forehead muscle so keep raising the eyebrows up without creating wrinkles here the aim is to work with smoothing those lines and wrinkles so take a deep breath in through your nose and a deep breath out and when you're ready just release your hands next we're going to work that I area so this exercise called the mini V is very good for releasing any tension around the eyes it's very good for smoothing lines under the eyes and getting rid of crow's feet on the outer edge of the eyes as well so we take our two fingers just either side of the nose here and the inner corners of the eyes and we just place our index fingers onto the outer edge of the eyes we look up towards the ceiling and then when you're ready you're just going to make a strong squint upwards with the lower eyelid so you just feel a little shake or little pulse on the outer edge of the eyes there now try and hold that for about 15 to 20 seconds and as you feel that little shake or that little pulse that's a good indication muscles are contracting and relaxing and that's how they're going to build in strengthen tone and therefore reduce and prevent crow's feet so let's just rest and take that once more making that strong squint as you look upwards feeling that little shake or that little pugs feel those muscles working don't more if you don't feel the working first time around the more you do it the more your muscles will get used to doing these exercises and just release next one we do a massage technique called circle the eyes so we're going to take the two index fingers I'm going to do like quick taps above the eyebrows and then under the eyes and just going around once more this is very good for boosting circulation also very good for increasing the collagen and the elastin let's go in the other direction so if you do have any puffiness under the eyes or dark circles this is a really lovely exercise to do every day you can do it first thing in the morning you can do it when you apply your eye product as well then second part of the exercise take the two index fingers sweep under the eyes and lift off we're going to do twice more sweep and lift off one more time and relaxing okay we're next going to work onto our cheek area so we're going to do some exercises which helps strengthen many of the major cheek muscles as we strengthen the muscles the skin attached to it is going to be tautened and firm so very good for lifting the cheeks and smoothing any lines in that area as well so we're going to puff the cheeks out full of air I'm going to try and hold this for as long as you can up to thirty Seconds if possible then you're going to tap the cheeks so just keep this going remember to breathe in and out through your nose as you do it and one more deep breath in and out and relax your hands back down our next exercise is called this smile smoother this is amazing for reducing lines between the nose and the mouth area very good for lifting your cheeks part two of the exercise is also very good for helping to tone the jaw area and the neck area as well so good overall one for the lower face so we're going to pull top lip and bottom lip away from each other hole hiding the teeth so we're going and we're going to go from this a shape to a small shape still hiding the teeth and then back again so again so just keep this going your own time really feel those muscles working quite hard as you do this and then hold that smile shape place your index finger onto your chin this access resistance and we're going to scoop the jaw backwards so again we'll do this twice more and one more time and come back to ow so next we're going to work our jaw area the jaw tends to be the area where we hold most of our texture so this is amazing for releasing tension so very good if you grind your teeth at night for example or you get headaches it's a good one to do daily it also lifts and defines and tones the jaw so we take two fingers and thumb and we just do a pinch and release all the way up the jaw area and when you get to your ears lift off and when they do twice more pinch and release and one more time and then you're going to take your thumbs part to the exercise smooth all the way up the jaw line lift off and do that twice more and one more time and then relaxing okay next we're going to work with lifting the neck area so when they tilt your head back and then we're going to take the tongue I'm going to bring it up to the roof of the mouth and then release and we'll do that ten times so we're tilting back taking your tongue you want to feel this working underneath the jaw and you're going to go release down and if you want to work a few more times on this you can do very good for strengthening a big muscle in the neck called the platysma muscle I'm also tightening any loose skin under the jaw then we're going to do a lovely massage technique so at this point if you want to apply a moisturizer or a serum an organic product is really good to use at this point you can then just start to work up the neck area so just use your hands you can even do this without a product is still very soothing very relaxing very good for lifting the skin so just working with your hands and then relax back down then we'll do a lovely acupressure point now all of the acupressure points in face yoga are very calming very good for enhancing the well-being we're going to place our index finger onto our collarbone so just in that natural indentation you have in the collarbone area and we're just going to press here now this point is renowned for helping circulation in the face so it helps the fresh in the face helps to energize the face it's also very good for general energy levels it helps stimulate the thyroid gland so you're just going to massage in one direction now you can breathe deeply here you can even do this closing your eyes if you like and we're going to go to the other direction gently massaging this is a great one to do anytime you want to feel a little bit more energized good okay so our final technique is called the three stroke this is such a nice relaxation technique and again it's very good if you just applied a product it will help the product to penetrate deeper into the skin so we're going to take our index fingers we're just going to sweep up the jewel I'm going to do this three times two and three lovely then I'm going to go up on the area between the mouth and the nose so we're going one two three very good for smoothing lines there and the final technique you're just going to place your index fingers go above your eyebrows and and we're just going to do this twice more lovely and then when you're ready just close your eyes for a moment just allow every muscle in the face to feel completely relaxed let go of any tension just take a deep breath in and a deep breath out and when you're ready open your eyes and your face should feel energized and alive hope you enjoyed your face yoga techniques with Daniel Collins and good housekeeping

Tip 9: Do the things you don’t really want to do

When was the last time you cleaned your washing machine or descaled your coffee machine? Are your cupboards still as chaotic as last year, even though you have made a firm commitment to keep them tidy and organized in the new year? Actually, the same as you planned for the new year every year. Then now would be the time to do exactly those things. Grab your folders, sort out your clothes, clean your household appliances thoroughly or sort out all the photos and documents on your mobile phone and laptop. Now you would also have enough time to create the long planned photo book from your vacation 2 years ago.

Tip 10: Take care of your hygiene anyway

Even if we sit at home and show no symptoms, the media have shown more than clearly that you can still be contagious without knowing it. Therefore we want to appeal to you all again: please wash your hands regularly and pay attention to good basic hygiene. Even if you don’t belong to the risk group and probably won’t even notice an infection, you can still infect your neighbour who might die as a result. We do not know the health history of every single person we meet. Even young and healthy looking people can suffer from chronic diseases and therefore belong to the risk group of the Corona Virus. So you are not only protecting yourself, but many other people in this big wide world. Let us fight against the Corona Virus together! For us and for everybody out there!

Natural Skin Care Time while staying home

11 tips to avoid boredom during quarantine and take care of your skin Natural Skin Care 1

Finally time to give the skin a break

No parties, no dinner dates – no need to put heaps of make-up on your face. In the quarantine at home you have the opportunity to let your skin breathe properly again. That’s how it works!

Just as we’re currently taking things down a gear in our everyday lives, we’re also taking a step back when it comes to skincare – we send our skin on holiday, so to speak, and simply leave it alone for a few days. In doing so, it can relax and recuperate extensively. Sounds simple? Actually it is! But there are still one or two things you should consider.

Detoxify the skin

As with any diet, this is also about abstinence. This means leaving out as many – if not all – beauty products as possible. Yes, this is radical, but only in this way can the skin benefit. It is the body’s largest organ and absorbs everything we give it. In addition to good ingredients, unfortunately, these are also softeners, silicones or even hormonal substances. These can impede the skin’s ability to absorb oxygen and thus bring the natural acid mantle out of balance.

Renunciation is rewarded

The best effect is therefore achieved if you do not use any products for at least one week: no creams, no soaps just natural face cleaner and no make-up. From now on, cleanse your face with water only and allow your skin to breathe properly again. If you can hardly stand it without face cream, you can help with a moisturizer spray. But it is completely normal that the skin has to get used to the new regime in the first days. It is important that you drink a lot of water and support your body with alkaline herbal teas to detoxify it.

  1. More and more people are working from home and it’s safe to assume some people won’t be taking care of themselves as they should. Skincare tends to go overlooked, which shouldn’t be the case, and your article here helps go over the different ways to stay healthy.
