Summer has arrived in Germany, the temperatures are much higher than expected and there is no rain in sight. It's been a long time since we've had such a beautiful summer, but it's hard to know what to do in this heat. You don't want to exercise too much, but you also don't want to lie in the sun all the time, so we've put together a few ideas for things you can do on hot days.
Cool off in the water
Whether it's an outdoor pool, the ocean, a lake, or an indoor pool, cooling off in hot weather is refreshing and good for your body. It allows your body to cool down a bit, so you can feel energized right away. It's best to call a few friends so that you can have fun together in a larger group and enjoy the weather after work.
Picnic in the shade
Fresh, cold fruit, some drinks and a blanket to find a shady spot. It's best to find a tree to spread your picnic under. There are many beautiful places to picnic, such as a park, forest, lake, or even your own backyard.
Eat ice cream
You can go out for ice cream or buy everything you need to make your favorite ice cream at home. You will need some fruit, your favorite flavor of ice cream, some cream, and toppings. If you like, you can also make your own water ice. All you need is a mold, fill it with water (flavored), mix in some fruit and put it in the freezer for a few hours.
Hang a hammock
It's best to find a shady spot to hang your hammock. It should be nice and quiet so you can just enjoy a few minutes of peace and recharge your batteries. Of course, you can also do this on your balcony or on the beach, depending on where you can relax best.
Off to the ropes course
There is plenty of shade in the trees on the high ropes course, so you can have fun in the sun without getting sunstroke. The adrenaline will be pumping, but the view from the top is worth it!
Try new drinks
You can either go to the cute café next door or buy everything you need to make your new favorite drink at the supermarket. Staying hydrated is especially important in the heat, so why not try something new? Try a new iced tea, make your own milkshake, or simply drink water with fruit. There are many recipes for different drinks on the Internet, but you can also make many of the Starbucks drinks yourself. The best thing to do is to find the recipe for your favorite drink, quickly buy the ingredients, and make your own refreshing drink for a lot less money.
Barbecues
This is probably most people's favorite summer activity, and rightly so. Not only does it give you that wonderful summer feeling, but it also tastes good. You can even try your hand at grilling desserts. The days are longer in summer anyway and it doesn't cool down at night, so you can barbecue a little later when the weather has cooled down a bit and you can really enjoy the evening.
Spend the night outdoors
Nature is the name of the game here. Especially in hot weather it doesn't cool down at night, which is why your own home is way too hot and you can't stand to be in bed because you're sweating so much. Why not spend a night outside? Either on the beach, in the woods or by the lake? If that's too scary for you, you can spend the night in your own backyard - that's fine too!
Cocktail Evening
With or without alcohol, there's something for everyone. It's best to pick a few recipes ahead of time, buy the necessary items, and set up a small bar at home. Then invite your best friends over for a night of fun and a few cool cocktails.
Try water sports
There are so many cool water sports that most people have probably never tried. It's refreshing and a lot of fun. You don't have to be super athletic to do them, there are beginner courses or staff on hand to help you so nothing should happen. Water skiing, surfing, diving, wakeboarding, kite surfing or just pedal boating, there should be something for everyone. You don't have to worry about making a fool of yourself either, because every pro has started out and had their difficulties.
